"Carpeaux' exile"
drawing with the black lead and the Indian ink,
of Bruce Krebs

After the fall of Napoleon III, Jean-baptiste Carpeaux, appointed sculptor of the empire, left in exile to England. I do not know why I outlined several drawings on this subject. The history of the sculpture of the 19th century interests me much. Always it is that I joined together these four images within the same framework. Carpeaux seems anxious and concentrate. I took up this idea for other drawings of the exile.
If the image takes too a long time to be posted, you can join the index of the drawings.

Indian inks black and black lead on paper 100% rag.

Drawings: 4 x 8,2 cm x 10,6 cm
